Leslie Askanas
Leslie Askanas is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Communicative Disorders. She began her professional journey as a Speech Pathologist and Special Education teacher, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting individuals with diverse needs.

Leslie later transitioned into the field of Human Resources after obtaining her Certificate in Human Resources from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Her HR career began at Dun & Bradstreet Software, where she gained foundational experience in corporate HR practices.
​
She went on to serve as Vice President of Human Resources at Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services. In this role, Leslie provided strategic HR leadership across a range of areas including recruitment and retention, labor law compliance, JCAHO standards, management training and coaching, employee relations, and the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
​
In 2000, Leslie founded Askanas Human Resources Consulting, offering tailored HR services to organizations of all sizes. She is widely respected across both for-profit and nonprofit sectors, known for her expertise in executive search, consulting, management training, and coaching. Her work ensures compliance with labor laws and supports organizations in building strong, effective teams.
Malorie Simpson
Malorie Simpson is a graduate of The University of Arizona where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Family Studies and Human Development. She started her career working with children and young adults with special needs in Southern California before entering into the recruiting space in 2017.
Malorie spent 6 years with Robert Half International, the world's largest specialized talent solutions and business consulting firm, where she worked with new and established companies to staff accounting, finance, and human resources professionals on a direct hire basis.

She joined Askanas Consulting in the Spring of 2024 and, in addition to her enthusiasm, brings her in depth knowledge of sourcing quality candidates across a multitude of industries that not only fit a job description, but the overall culture of a team to guarantee long term success!
